Xhol Caravan

Soul Caravan aka Xhol Caravan aka Xhol were a shockingly on point Krautrock band that often seem to be overshadowed or passed over for the more holy names in the canon, such as Can, Faust and Amon Duul II.

Lately they are the only Krautrock band I listen to. Apparently many people label them as the German equivalent of the Grateful Dead; wherever they played the space-heads would follow.

Their best albums are
Electrip(1969) and Motherfuckers GmbH & Co. KG(1970), which both borrow from so many genres I don't even know where to begin to describe their sound. It's ranges from bleary eyed psychedelic soul to sprawling Soft Machine style freak-out jazz jams, to warped symphonic kraut-blues. Check it.
